A very positive week for Northern Ireland military veterans. Soldiers B&F have had their prosecutions withdrawn because their legal rights had been denied fifty years ago. Now all the ‘ Bloody Sunday’ prosecutions have been dismissed. Of course their are more lined up by Sinn Fein/IRA so we must stay in the fight.
NI Secretary of State Brandon Lewis failed to get the promised legislation before Parliament before the parliamentary summer recess. We hope for better in the Autumn.
There are now fourteen veterans groups who are members of the Northern Ireland Veterans Movement with other applicant awaiting approval. The new NIVM web page will be published next week and we continue to organise the Veterans National Protest Day on 28th August 2021.
